Eco-friendly Gift Ideas for Sustainable and Ethical Christmas
Updated: Apr 2, 2022
It was so lovely to hear from all of you who tried the Sustainable Christmas Decor DIY from last week’s blog. Hopefully this has put you in some truly Christmassy mood now. I can reassure you that it definitely affected mine. It’s now first of December and I’m sure you had some gift ideas in mind for a while now… Unless you are like me and like to leave things to the last minute (OR we just all lead very busy lives and run out of time, right?).

SO, let’s talk some GOOD eco-friendly Christmas gifts ideas. Not incidental ones, but ones that are both sustainable and ethical so you can stick to your values.
Why do I Promote Buying Things?
Because the truth is that this is the perfect time of the year to raise awareness. What do I mean by that? Well, I truly believe that giving USEFUL sustainable gifts to your beloved ones is one of the simplest ways to bring the zero waste conversation in an exciting and inclusive way. This is why I created the list of my favourite items so you can stick to your values when gifting this year.
Below you will find my favourite brands as well as an explanation WHY I believe for these to be great options.

Vegums
Based in the UK, Vegums is a company producing completely natural and eco-friendly gummy multivitamins. Not only you will not find any nasty artificial additives, they are also completely free of any animal ingredients (vegan). Actual fruit and veg extract are used only. Their range includes gummy multivitamins, fish-free omega-3 and Iron supplements.
Perfect gift for an entire family. Because who doesn’t need an extra booster during the winter period?
Vegums products are shipped and wrapped 100% plastic free. The products come in metal tins, cardboard tubes and compostable cornstarch packets. How amazing is that?
An extremely thoughtful eco-friendly gift idea that doesn’t only care for our beloved ones but also causes no harm to the environment. Win-win in my opinion.
Vegums could be purchased either as one off, or in a form of mostly (or yearly subscriptions).

Another gift idea you just can’t get wrong. Zero Waste Path is a company specialising in creating sustainable beauty products using natural ingredients only. Their products are all vegan, cruelty free, palm oil free and hand made in Cambridge, UK. Their range includes shampoo bars, soaps, deodorants, lotions and more.
The company puts a lot of effort into creating products that are sustainable in every aspect, from the ingredients to the product and shipping packagings, the production, and the energy used in the process. They are also fully transparent about all the ingredients and their origin.
Zero Waste Path has also a return scheme where each used tin could be refilled and you will receive a discount for your next order.

Huha
I’m sure this gift would make many ladies very happy. Based in Canada, Huha creates beautiful mineral underwear using Tencel fibers (sourced from eucalyptus trees), making them the most sustainable option out there. Not only eco-friendly, Tencel has been proven to be more breathable than cotton, meaning moisture and bacteria growth is greatly prevented.
Additionally, these have been infused with zinc oxide, a naturally soothing, antimicrobrial mineral creating the perfect environment for the intimate parts.
With Tencel being the most sustainable option out there, Huha’s underwear comes completely plastic free.

Kimai
Kimai is definitely one of those brands whose pieces you can feel good about gifting and wearing. Their ethical jewellery is hand crafted in Antwerp, Belgium. They use recycled gold as well as lab grown diamonds, so no harm caused the planet or people. These artificial (lab grown) diamonds are IDENTICAL in all ways to natural diamonds except the fact they are ethical. Kimai also uses locally sourced recycled 18k gold which is initially an old jewelry which is then melted down to form their beautiful designs.
High end eco-friendly idea for a gift that most certainly won’t be forgotten. Carbon neutral Worldwide shipping available.
